QRCI Science Activity StationsQRCI (pronounced Qw-er-kee) Science Activity Stations are QRC-based interactive stations designed by New Mettle Farms to provide guided, hands-on STEM activities for grades 3+ in the Del Puerto High School Garden. Using a wi-fi enabled device with QR scanner, simply scan each station's QR code to watch short student and facilitator videos about each garden science activity. Both facilitators and students will be prompted to use station supplies to explore the science concept presented in the videos.
Each station includes facilitator and student videos and laminated guides, exploration supplies, and allows for approximately 15-20 min. of a hands-on science activity in the garden. Groups of 4-5 students will have the opportunity to rotate through 4 QRCI Science Activity Stations exploring planting temperatures, water conservation, solar orientation, and our garden's soil ecosystem. We recommended that an adult remain with each group to provide supervision and guided discussion. Activities and lessons are NGSS aligned. |
